Prologue:
In the distant future, humanity reached a pinnacle in
social evolution. The seemingly impossible dream of a
utopian world had been achieved. Then, in an unseen
instant, everything changed. Not much is
remembered of the initial event, just the fire. From the
very heavens that seemed to bless this new world, came
death.
The original impact was caused by a rogue meteor, but
one foreign to this corner of the galaxy. The falling
stone brought not only a fiery hell-storm of death and
chaos, but the very essence of life itself! They only
started as simple microbes, single celled organisms, but
the oxygen rich atmosphere that humans thrived in caused
them to spontaneously evolve at a fantastic rate. The
utopian world was consumed by chaos.
Humanity had long forgot what it meant to be at war, but
the naturally violent instincts of man are relearned
very quickly. Once the new and dangerous life forms that
were spawned from the meteor were brought to a
controllable level, the remaining humans began to debate
amongst themselves. Discussions of what to do now grew
into heated arguments, and then into violent conflict.
The utopian world was truly gone.
Each train of thought grew into its own colony. Vernos,
the megalopolis of the old world, the one grand city,
was partially destroyed. It became a relic, Its
ruins used to build the new cities. Though they were
separated by ideals, they shared a common goal, keeping
the monstrosities that roamed the wilderness at bay.
With time, wounds healed and the utopia began to come
back. Humanity was still divided, but hope was
returning, and men grew weary. They were looking for a
leader, one to reunite the broken world.
